Depth camera for Jitter

Dg's icon

Hi,
I've been using Microsoft kinect a lot with Max 5, 6 and 7.
I don't own the last Max 8 version yet but wonder if anyone has working experience with depth cameras and which model does it. at this time. I work on Mac & windows.
Any experience on that is welcome.

Old Xbox Kinect (v 1414) works fine with Max 8 and macOS Mojave via [jit.freenect.grab] (however you need 64 bit version of the [jit.freenect.grab] - such a version can be found on the forum, I remember that some time ago I post it).

Mmmm okay nice. How do you know the 1414 version?

Btw. model 1473 works fine too ;-)

the jit.freenect.grab works here also in max 8 with mojave
did anyone also get the jit.openni object running? or is it simple impossible with mojave,
I didn't found anyone yet who succeeded, even in Ni Mate it doesn't work anymore with the kinect 1414 (the Kinect One still works)

Hi I'm wondering how people got jit.freenect.grab to work on OSX. I'm running into some errors.

Here's the thread with the 64 bit jit.freenect.grab externals, but I have not been able to get any of them to work in Max 8.1.2 / OSX 10.14.6

Yes I believe the only thing that works is dp.kinect and dp.kinect2 externals for windows. I hear running bootcamp is easy but haven't gotten around to it yet. https://hidale.com/shop/dp-kinect2/

No guarantees of support or status in the current pandemic, but you could try the externals here -- you'll need the develop branch:
