I want to build a **kern interpreter in Max, which reads a **kern file. This file could be opened as a .txt file which I am doing with the [text] object.

The **kern file uses a distinction between a tab and space. Unfortunately, when processing it with max objects, this distinction is lost.

I may also try to load a txt file directly to the [js] program to process it further but I do not know how to do this... I assume that it would work if I put the whole txt into a string and then look for the tabs in this string.
