Does Push 2 work with the new MIDI mapping feature?
Not sure if I am doing something wrong or whether it's not supported.
I would like to test the new MIDI map feature with the Push 2, but can't get it to work. It seems it's not recognised, but not sure if I have missed something.
Has anyone succeeded with this?
I believe the Push 2 needs to be in 'User' mode, and if you are using a knob, you will need to set the Mapping's relative mode to 'Push User / Arturia Rel 2'.
Hi Ben, Thanks for the tips. Indeed this seems to do the trick. Very nice!
One thing I notice is that when trying to map the Push 2's knobs, the 'Source' alternates between a CC#xx and NOTE#yy, and sometimes once mapped, the control does not behave the way I would expect it to (for instance, if I turn the knob by 90 degrees, it may result in a slider changing its value by a variable amount). I have the feeling this is probably because the knob can act as both a switch as well as a pot. Any tips on this?
Also I can only get the Push 2's pads to operate as an on/off switch. Is there any way to capture the pad velocity?
Hi @KRUNAL. The knobs are a problematic case because they have a touch response on the top of the encoder which is a note event and a turn response which is a CC. What are you gonna do? Ableton Live itself has problems mapping the encoders in user mode, IIRC.
The pads are sending note events, and I guess you've presented a compelling use case for a NoteVelocity mode.
I noticed in "Poli" synth (the Max for live instrument) the knobs are even mapped in banks, I would love to know how this was done checked in the patch but i really dont get it, if anyone smarter then me could explain it I'd be mega grateful
