Weird issues with fonts since 8.0.5

Hi all,

Since the last update fonts have been wonky in a way that I can't exactly predict. The most noticeable effect is that the text inside help patchers, while fine before, now is almost always too long to fit inside the jsui object. A little bit annoying, but not a huge deal.

you can see the text being cut off here, most of the help patches I open I have to now adjust the size of the box when that was never an issue before

I started messing around with the bach package this morning and it seems to be having severe issues with font since the last update. I wonder if these issues are related.

Since finding a solution to the overall font issues seems to be beyond me, I was hoping someone might be kind enough to help me figure out how to install new fonts for the bach package to at the very least further troubleshoot and potentially fix that issue.

Thanks

I downloaded the most recent version of Max 7 to see if the font would display correctly there. It does, so I guess a temporary solution to my problem is just to use it instead of 8, since I won't likely take advantage of its new features for what I'm using bach for anyway. Still would be nice to have closure for the future.

You can also notice in the screenshots the difference in font size in the jsui object at the top of each patch. In this case, there's not enough text for it to cause any problems with visibility though.

Max 7.3.5 - font displays correctly

Max 8.0.5 - font is unintelligible

After running into similar issues, I downloaded the most recent version of bach (also cage and dada) directly from the bach-project site and NOT from package-manager:
https://www.bachproject.net/dl/

and the font looks like expected again.

I have no luck with that solution. Thank you for the suggestion.

On the bach forum they say that we should stick with max 8.04 for now. Problem is that I already installed 8.05 and I can't find a download for 8.04 does anyone know where to find that?

[EDIT]Thanks Rob. Problem is that Windows will not allow me to install an older version: I deleted the Max8 folder as well as the Cycling74 folder in the Program Files but then installer still detects an installation of a newer version ...

I did it by unistalling Max8 from the Start menu....
