Edit uploaded file attachments?

Hello,

Is there any way to edit uploaded files on a post?

Ricky

Yes, that's what I mean. It's a pretty basic feature; surely users would like to have that option? Is it possible, admin?
Thanks for the heads up re: project/tool/wiki page.

I also find this frustrating, and wish we would have the option.

Hm. Interesting. I'll look into this.

Hi Ricky,

Just getting back into a few tickets here. I apologize for the silence.

To clarify, when you talk about editing attachments, do you mean being able to delete an attachment and upload a new one?

It would be great to know what type of behaviour you expect, and I can then get a better sense of how to address it.

A sample of your post where this is needed would also be good to see.

Hi Ginger,

Yes, I mean to delete old attachments and upload new attachments. I think the Pd forum is a good example of the functionality that I would like to see:

Here's an example of a post on here where, IMHO, it is needed:

All the best,

Hiya Ricky,

Thanks for the heads-up. I was wondering about this, because it had been a previous feature for sure. I think it had just been reset in our settings panel from an old update on the site. It should be back now, with a much larger preview image + a display of the image name as a caption.

I've attached a sample image below as a test as well.

Hey @Raja,

The "detach" link removes the attachment from the reply, but the item will still exist on our servers. (It's a Wordpress thing.) "Delete" will actually remove it completely. I can see how the language is confusing. Will see what I can do about this.

As for the #-of-downloads counter; that's an interesting idea. I'll look into it, too. Thanks for the suggestion.
