elektron digitakt vst~
Hi together,
I am currently trying max together with the digitakt and the digitakt vst plug-in.
So far everything makes sense and is working. 16 channels of output, pattern change via midievent etc.
One thing I am not able to control is the transport (start/stop) of the elektron device.
If I set the plug-in to sync to "clock+transport" I am not able to stop it from max.
I tried to use the global transport but the elektron device does not stop.
Any hint about that?

Bump. A year later and I still haven't figured out a way to stop the DT transport.
I'm pretty sure you can send an Elektron a basic midi stop message. Check out the patch here - https://cycling74.com/forums/how-do-you-control-the-midi-clock-of-an-external-program-from-max
Just now I am trying the Elektron Rytm MKII with max running Overbridge via vst~. Sending MIDI start / stop messages to the MIDI port works, as suggested by DADDYMAX.
Edit: The whole story is a litte more complicated. This only works if audio in max is turned off. As soon as audio is on, the vst~ object with Overbridge takes over and MIDI-real-time directly sent to the MIDI port ceases to function.
This seems consistent with the warning on the Overdrive start screen, which indicates that sequencing or syncing the device from within the Host Application must be done through Overbridge and that simultanoeusly sequencing or syncing through the MIDI port is not supported. Using MIDI Monitor to spy on the outputs further shows that the communication between vst~ / Overbridge and the device is not done through the MIDI ports.
I have tried to send start/stop messages to the vst~object via midievent (e.g. midievent 250 or midievent 252), but without effect. And the max transport does not start the device either, contrary to what the max documentation suggests. So it seems tricky to control the transport of the Elektron device with Overbridge loaded.
It would be cool if someone could figure out how to make this work.
