Is there a way to set the expression in [expr] from a message or another text/string holder (instead of typing it inside the object box)? I want to make a patch where the user can type a formula into [textedit] and this formula would be loaded into [expr] object as value of its 'expression' argument.

If not possible with [expr], can I achieve this functionality with another object instead of expr? Like [jit.expr] or [codebox], but I know nothing about their usage and functionality yet.

I don't think it's possible with [expr], it might be doable with [jit.expr] in a hacky way (if you convert the first input to a 1x1 matrix). I believe you'd be better off with [bach.eval] from the

You could use the eval() method in a jstrigger object. Does require the user to use javascript syntax (so Math.pow() for example).
