I'm totally new to Max MSP so just going through some basics now but I can't seem to get any of the externals I've downloaded working.

I've tried 3 so far: Bonk, BTrack and WinBeat (I'm trying to get beat detection working as my first project)

I have included their location folder in my path (Options->File Preferences) and after restarting Max I do a search for , i.e. beat and it finds the beat~ external but if I click on it in the explorer it comes up with an error 'XML File "beat~.maxref.xml" not found'

This is exactly the same for the other externals I've added (Bonk and BTrack)

Could anyone explain to me where bI'm going wrong here?
