I'm hoping the forum might shed some light on this as I've been unable to find information on it.

Most spectrum analyzers have an adjustable tilt control - in the case of pink noise, it appears flat on the spectrum with a tilt of 3 db/oct. What I'm unclear about is how to actually build that control into this FFT spectrum analyzer.

It seems after reading various manuals, a lot of spectrum analyzers tilt the measured spectrum around 1khz. I can't imagine it's preprocessing with an EQ, so how might one go about applying this below?
