Hello Florian. Does it still happen with the latest release? If yes, the project's GitHub is the best place to post bugs.

with some help of James Bradbury, the cause could be identified as my 2010 MacPro lacking the avx instruction set. I managed to recompile with -DFLUID_ARCH=-mcpu=native, and got a functioning version (and slow it is). Will eventually have to spend some money on a new machine...

Ah yes, indeed. At one point we might want to consider putting super fat versions with all the variables of cpu in the world but with the M1 and all that jazz there list is getting longer...
