Forum Bug: pasted patchers not found

I'm trying to access the patchers in this old thread, but it says "Failed to load patcher" & I can't copy it to clipboard.

I'm also noticing this a lot more than I remember from a few years ago. Did some kind of update nuke a bunch of old patchers?

On a similar note, on Firefox the search function is almost useless now because I can't open them in separate tabs, meaning you can only open one result at a time before having to redo your search.

AH, thanks Grogulous to mention this issue, I'm facing it too, on Firefox, since they updated the search interface. Quite frustrating.

I noticed the same problem in another thread. I tried Chrome, MS Edge and Firefox, and the behavior is the same... the patch doesn't end up in the clipboard when one clicks the button, and clicking the "Show text" underneath the button gives the message "Failed to load patcher".

I agree, the search function it's now quite useless! (tried on Chrome and Safari)

Hi everyone,

we have indeed made some changes and updated the forums, website replies and the underlying data structure to a different editor framework due to a deprecation of the previous one by its maintainers. While we keep tweaking and improving some things this did address a big set of issues in the editing experience, especially on mobile devices and we'd hope that it can already and more generally be considered an improvement.

In that light, thanks for reporting the bug on Pasted Patchers that appeared on some old posts and sorry for the inconvenience that might have caused. We've rolled out the fix for this but please let us know if you keep encountering the issue.

Wrt to the search, due to the aforementioned changes we also migrated to a different search backend, that more generally speaking should give a better and faster quality in its results.

I suspect that some of the functionality you are asking for, eg in regards to opening new tabs, is covered by the full results view. To reach that simply hit Enter after entering your search query (instead of selecting one of the quicks results) or go straight to https://cycling74.com/search.

Regardless, your feedback on improving the UX of the spotlight style search, making this option more obvious and enabling some additional interactions on the spotlight itself is taken.

Thanks,
Florian

Thanks for the fast fix Florian, I can copy the patchers now. I'll let you know if I encounter the bug again.

Just tried Florian suggestion: hit enter after entering the search query.

Perfect!

Thanks for the attention

The pasted patchers bug seems to have returned. It's not just old posts either. I get 'failed to load patcher' for any shared patcher.

Hi

We were able to identify and resolve an issue that affected copying the pasted patcher which was isolated to using Safari.

So just to check, is it correct that were seeing the "Failed to load patcher" message in Safari? If you could test and confirm that the issue is resolved for you that would be appreciated.

Thanks
Florian

Working for me now (macOS 13.6.3 / Safari 17.2.1).

Yes, I was seeing it in Safari. Thanks for the fix! It's working now, but it no longer displays the text that says 'copied'. Not a big deal (it displays a tick) but I thought I should mention it in case that is still meant to be it's expected behaviour.

I'm getting the same "failed to load patcher" error on the forum threads. I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and Safari with the same result. The problem seems to be with older patchers. The link the OP posted will show the issue as an example: https://cycling74.com/forums/crossfade-loops

macOS 12.6.7

Thanks for reporting that. Should be fixed now.
