I'm looking for some information about the creation of reliable friction sounds.
Any of you have any suggestions?

I would imagine that the type of material is pretty central to your question. Have a look at this thread:

Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

I think the .pdf provided by stringtapper contains examples of modeling bow friction that might give you ideas; anything more sophisticated than that I can't help you with I'm afraid; and this 'friction' example of mine took 2 minutes. And is shit:

Simon Conan and others at LMA/CNRS have been working on synthesis of friction noises (rubbing, scratching, rolling, etc.). They had an article published in the last Winter edtion of Computer Music Journal (38:4, pp. 24–37, doi:10.1162/COMJ a 00266) that might be of interest.

Yes, it's a kind of noise, but there are things you need to be aware of to get a specific friction noise.
