GUI inside jit.window
hi there,
I'm looking for some basic approaches to create a proper and very simple GUI inside a jit.window fullscreen output. I basically need buttons and something like umenu.
Can anybody point me out to something simple and clean or do I need to do it from scratch with jit.gl.sketch or jit.gl.lcd and blend it with the final texture?
Thanks
Unfortunately, I'm afraid the correct answer is not the first option ;-)
But I would love to be proved wrong!
In the past, I've used a jit.pwindow instead included in a fullscreen borderless window, and reserved a portion of the screen to have a GUI with standard Max objects...
yeah, the first solution I've met is to use a jit.pwindow overlayed with regula max GUI objects and then resize the whole patch along with the jit.pwindow but it seems to be pretty "cpu greedy" compared to the jit.window output. It doesn't seem a really safe solution even if it's the simpliest one :(
This is not GUI inside jit.window. This is GUI above jit.window. See if it helps.
Pedro,
this is a very rad, simple and clean solution, simply love it!
Thank so much!
Pedro - IT IS GREAT - I pasted it into the patch below - where it would be about 200 px wide, 50 pix deep with 4 bangs named 1, 2, 3, 4 - the first is for music and the others are jit.gl graphics. Can you help?
@pedro:
Really nice solution!!!
Transparent background look so good!
Thanks!
This is an improved version and far easier to configure. There are some limitations related to jit.window fullscreen floating priority, but it's somewhat functional.
Thank you!!!
Wow, kudos to you, Pedro! Didn't know Max could do this! I'm gonna experiment with your technique in my own stuff. Thanks a lot! :)
Example updated for Max 8.1.4:
I'm constantly removing frames in video because Max sticks. This is so smooth. Thank you.
