Guitar plucking position estimation

Did somebody work on this topic?
Any tips to achieve it ?

Andres Szalay @Axon guitar to midi.

detection was possible only by using dedicated hex pickup,

either roland magnetic kind, or piezo, like Paradis or later Graph Tech.

Sorry I meant with Max only.
I already have an Axon AX100 mk2 but it introduces few noise in the audio path...
So I made M4L plugin Audio to Midi. It runs smoothly.
I'm trying to figure out how to add plucking position to the detection...

I know you meant Max,

but info about ony working system i know of and needed conditions for detection

could help you in your research.

None of my Axon units made any noise, check you power cabling.

grounding etc

No it's not a grounding issue. Something like 7-10k -50dB noise. I'll change power capacitors this week. And I'll see.

But anyway I'm still interested in plucking position detection.

This high pitched noise usually gets inserted

by switching power supplies.

Typical case are laptop PSUs which need earth

wire removed.

P.S.

Also LED display can cause this noise problem

Can you detach display cable to test that ?

"Can you detach display cable to test that ?"
You mean the LED display of AX100 ? I don't know but I will check.

And I will double check grounding too. ;-)

sorry, I was away for a day.

yes, I remember one case with AX50 from a customer making such

high pitched noise, and only cure was to disconnect ribbon cable to

LED display.

at the end I installed a toggle switch at power feed to LED,

Off when in use, On only if needed for control.

but AX50 has simple 12 segment LED display,

AX100 uses 16x2 standard LCD display but with a bit different

pinouts..

I guess mistake is too low display refresh rate frequency (in audible range)

Grounding checked - Grounding the GK3 Hex Mic with the guitar improved this config:
Hex Mic for midi (via AX100) and 6 audio (via my GK3 breakout module -https://modulargrid.net/e/other-unknown-fp-gk3bo ) + Guitar Mics via usual 6'35 cable.
I will investigate further asap...
