heightmap_mode vtf and shadows support
Hello community, but mainly Cycling74 and particularly Rob Ramirez.
I've just noticed that the current shadows implementation doesn't take the heightmap vtf deformation into account in my example patch. Is there something I'm missing or given the vertex displacement and shadows' current implementation, it's just something impossible to do?

yeah unfortunately the shadow renderer applies its own shader to shadow casters when rendering, which doesn't perform the vtf render. I'll make a ticket to investigate.
i think more importantly is a more generalized way for users to apply custom caster and receiver shaders in the shadow system.
Thank you Rob for your answer. Yeah, it would be great to have custom shaders for that particular situation, but I understand that there is always a fine line between functionality and accessibility/ease of use... thanks for your work!
