I'll apologise for my ignorance to start with - I'm a student of Sonic Arts with basic knowledge of max, who has, , foolishly, decided to try to create an installation which will convert the sine wave output from a theremin into a visual, and palpable (using vibrating motors and Arduino) representation. In other words, the idea is to take away the 'sounding' from sound. 

For the visual representation, however, I was looking at tectonic plates for a while before I stumbled across this max patch (made by Frederico Foderaro):

. It uses mouse tracking to control the particles, and I want to change that so they're controlled by pitch and volume - I just don't know how. I've looked into the fiddle~ object but I'm a bit lost.. If anyone could help me it would make me very happy!
