How can I send VIDEO and AUDIO out through MAC HDMI OUTPUT ?
I read a previous post about potentially sending VIDEO and AUDIO out from a patch through the jit.qt.videoout object. That post was concluded saying HDMI output was treated as an additional display snd the VIDEOOUT object wasn't necessary. In my case, I would like to use the ELGATO CAPTURE CARD to bring that signal into the WINDOWS machine for recording in OBS. My question is how can I send video out via the HDMI port of my MACBOOK PRO? Is there any potential pitfalls in this process I should know before purchasing the ELGATO?
Hello,
You also could think about using a atomos ninja-v
https://www.atomos.com/products/ninja-v
Its a bit more expensive, but from my point of view there are some advantages.
- small device / portable
- no need for a computer
- handling is simple
- analog/digital audio in/out
but as i mentioned before, a bit pricey ...

Thanks for your input but way to expensive.
This is a question for the makers of your capture card. In theory you plug your display output of your computer into the card and it acts as a separate output device (same as any monitor or projector).
Thanks for your reply.
