I am trying to use a Huion H420p drawing tablet to get the position and pressure of the pen in order to convert it in OSC (or MIDI) data. I know that the OSCulator app does exactly that, but they support the Wacom tablets only. I've tried the 'hi' object without any success (the H420 is shown in the devices list but there is no output from 'hi'). I've also tried the 'serial' object and it doesn't give any output no matter what. Does anybody have any advice? Thank you in advance!

A graphics tablet. I’m using a cheap Star G640S tablet I bought from XP-Pen offical website (

 ) and it works well, it give you more control capabilities. it was almost same with your huion h420 pen tablet .

After installing and launching µ MIDI Controller you’ll be presented with a somewhat cryptic interface.

Go to File > New to create a new document—you’ll be presented with a blank, grey Controller window with some settings available at the top. Start with the section labeled ‘MIDI Destinations’—click on the ‘Select’ area and, from the drop-down, choose ‘Virtual Source’. This will present the µ MIDI Controller ‘device’ as an available MIDI source in your instrument or DAW. You’ll see ‘Mu MIDI Controller’ available as an input, as indicated in the screenshot, where I’m using FM8.

The section to the right of ‘MIDI Destinations’ with the buttons for ‘Note’ and ‘Chord’ send program changes—again, we can ignore these for now.

To the far right we have 4 icons—going from top left to bottom right we have ‘Pen Mode’, On/Off, Tap mode and Panic (all notes off). Click on the ‘Pen Mode’ button so that it shows a Pen, then click on Tap mode so it shows a note on the blue background. This will enable you to touch the control surface with your pen to send MIDI note message. You’ll need to enable the On/Off button when you’re ready to use your tablet to send MIDI messages.

From the Window menu, choose ‘Instrument Parameters’—this is where you’ll set everything from how notes are mapped across the tablet, controller messages, chords and much more.

how about xp-pen star g640s osu graphics tablet . does the tablet support OSC ,

OSCulator app support the xp-pen graphics tablets , my xp-pen star G430 

  OSCulator app    support the xp-pen graphics tablets  , my xp-pen star G430 OSU Tablet works well with    OSCulator   program. 

Osculator provides such awesome support for graphics tablets .

 with Osculator and I am finding it to be an expressive and intuitive controller, almost as much as using an EWI .

As it is, with x, y, pressure, choice of pen or eraser, proximity detection, rocker switch buttons, it provides a lot of dimensions of control.
