Import .fbx scene
Hi there,
can anybody point me out on any tutorial or correct approach to import a full .fbx scene
with 3D elements and camera animation into jitter?
I'm looking since days and can't find anything useful :(
Thanks
fbx files are not currently supported in max 7, but we are working on support for max 8. you can convert to dae (using something like fbxconverter ). however i don't believe camera animations are imported. if you provide me your file i'll be happy to take a look at potential feature improvements to the importer. you can send off list if you prefer, robr at cycling74.com
Unearthing this post... any ideas of fbx implementation here in 2022 ?
+ 1
I know early july 2022 release includes FBX load into jit.gl.model, but I experimented a bit and I got a lot of errors considering fbx model/standard.
Probably, I don't follow the right way.
As far as I know FBX models are supported. happy to look at any files that aren't working as expected.
Hi Rob and thanks for your answer.
I just tested one (humanoid.fbx) from Touchdesigner's assets (I'm not sure I can post it here back) and I got this:

ok seems pretty clear from the error message? try using the fbxconverter to convert to a supported format.
I converted that model to FBX 2013 and was able to load with jit.gl.model but it is not rendering properly. I'll have to investigate if updating our Assimp version will help load this properly, or what conversions are available to make this work.
Quite explicit, yes.
Oh, ok for your second post.
Let me know if you wanted me to test it properly in the studio.
