Hello! I'm trying to recreate the patch in this video: https://youtu.be/Cc1-Rq0nSVo

Around 1:20 in the vid, he creates several parameters in the gen~ object using "param" Later (~2:00) he specifies inputs for the parameters from outside gen by simply using their names. When I try to do this it won't allow me to create objects with the parameter names (they just turn orange and "No such object" error appears). Any ideas what I'm missing here?

It's not working because you've tried to add an object box (typing 'n') instead of a message box (typing 'm' and then entering your text).

In addition if you do right click or ctrl click (on Mac) on the inlet of the gen obj (patch unlocked), you'll see the parameters you named and also access the attrui obj with named parameters. Very useful but does not respond to preset...
