Is my upsampling method in gen correct? What's wrong?
hi!
This patch is creating chaotic oscillation with the logistic map function.
The jumps in values creates aliasing due to it exceeding the niquiest frequency. So I had to downsample (red) it with the help of latch.
Now I was recommended to upsample it again. I tried doing that (green) but something is wrong with my patch and I cannot figure out what it is. It doesn't work unless I delete the histroy "upsample" object. Weird. Then it actually generates the interpolation I wanted. Otherwise nothing happens. I'm generally a little confused and not sure if what I did is actually correct.
Somebody please tell me with this :')
Hello. I don't think downsample will fix your situation. The problem will still be there, just worse (it will exceed even more the new nyquist frequency...
I would apply a lowpass filter with the cutoff below the nyquist frequency, as any antialiasing filter.

Thank you for your reply. Well downsampling definitely made the sound be less noisy and more like a pitch. So I do believe it helped since it reduced the speed at which the values were jumping. So in theory that does remove folded back frequencies. At least it sounds like that in the patch.
None the less I'm more interested in figuring out if my upsampling part is correct or not and what the issue is.
