jit.grab: no video devices found

Hi,
I'm new users to Max for Live, I'm trying to build an application using Kinect,
In the last days I've build a patcher (using dp.kinect2) that load sound from Ableton library and plays notes following body movements from kinect. It works fine, depth stream, color stream and body detection are working properly, but now I've just opened jit.pwindow help patcher and it don't work, Max reports jit.grab: no video devices found

The same help patcher is working on OSX 10.10 (macbook pro mid 2009);
Windows 8.1 configuration is following:
AMD fx 6300 on Asrock 960GM/U3S3 FX with Nvidia Geforce 750ti

thanks to everyone

are you trying to use the kinect as normal camera? because i don't think that works under mac os...
apart: in the jit.grab help patcher, when you click the "getdevlist" and "getinputlist" messages, do the umenus fill up with your camera options? you should see a dropdown list with all available cameras where you need to select the right one...

As Karl as mentioned, you cannot use jit.grab with kinect.
But if your problem is just the jit.grab and/or jit.movie not working on windows, it's because you need to download
the quicktime component for windows.

hope this helps

Thanks for replies,
@Karl
I can't get anything by clicking on getdevlist or get inputlist, and the same is for settings and snd_settings;
anyway, I don't need to use kinect as a camera, I've mentioned it to say that kinect is working properly and there aren't hardware issues :)

@Phiol
I can't figure out this problem: quicktime 7 pro is installed (more info in attachment) but most probably quicktime components aren't working. Should I do anything else apart from trying to re-install quicktime?

thanks in advance

Hi Enrico Rollo

I don't have a PC with me right now, and mostly work with mac, but every time I work with one , I've simply had to install quicktime for windows https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?locale=en_US. worked like a charm

hope this helps

hi enrico,
i'm not entirely clear about what exactly you are trying to do: you have a camera (what sort of?) + a kinect?
since you are on windows: did you try jit.dx.grab (bypassing quicktime)?
best
