jit.gl.text @mode3d allows matrixoutput, @mode 2d does not. but it sounds like what you want to do is capture your text to a texture for further processing. hard to tell without seeing a patch.

If all you want to do is overlay text on a movie, then there's no need for any of that.

If you want to capture text or anything you draw on the screen to a texture, you can draw it to a separate node instead and then combine it with other elements.
