[solved] Launch next clip or Observe Clip slot playing?
I figured it out.
I know you can launch a selected scene. But, is there a way to observe what number clip in a track is playing or to automatically launch the next or previous clip in a track without launching a scene?
That should show some stuff. Even if you already figured it out, might be useful.
Sorry to resume such an old thread:
I tried the "next-prev-clip" Max patch and put it on a group track where the clips are only in the two grouped tracks inside (slots 1 to 5) but I'm getting a funny behaviour. While the clips in the first slot are playing, if I click on "Next", the clips in the first slot stop and the clips in the second slots start playing.
While the second slots' are playing, if I hit "Next" the playback just stops.
If any other slot is playing, hitting "next" will trigger the playback of the second slot clip: what can I do to fix this?
And a further step, to me, would be having something that would fire a bang when the playing clip reaches it's end (no quantization applied neithr at track and global level). I would use that bang to trigger the "start next clip" command.
I wish I could learn how to do it by myself but after having a look at the patch editor documentation I had to give up the idea.
Thanks.
Edit:
in the scenario I described above, now I'm getting this behaviour:
- play the first clip in the group track
- if I click on "next" the playback stops
- play one of the other clips (slots 2 to 5)
- if I click on next it will stop the playng clip and launch the clip in the slot 1
- in any case, clicking on "prev" has no effect.
Thanks.
