"Like lores~" gen~ example : why is phasor input *2 and -1 ?

The "Like lores~" gen~ example uses a [phasor~ 150] as input. Comment says that incoming signal has to be harmonically rich. I believe I understand why. But what is the need to have it x2 and then -1 ? As far as harmonics are concerned, I see no significant impact on the spectrum ?

This is to increase the gain by 6dB and then remove the DC offset. You want the signal to be between -1 and +1 instead of between 0 and 1.
