live.grid
I am just beginning a project that incorporates a few sequencers and I am working with [live.grid] and [matrixctrl]. I prefer most of the functionality of [live.grid] except the monophonic/single note behavior. As far as I can tell, when matrixmode is turned off on [live.grid], the object requires one box per column. This is a great way to limit the output to monophonic but does not allow for rests. I have found this behavior in [matrixctrl] (@one/column). Does anyone know how to get that behavior in [live.gric] (monophonic + option for rests)?

Hi Patrick, I hope you figured out a way to control the behaviour how you wanted in [live.grid]
I’m working on a potentially similar project, but I’m wondering do either of your methods above allow you to store (and display) notes of different durations? Or conversely are they more applicable to rhythmic/transient sounds?
In my experience, sequencers don't always do a great job with duration. The piano roll interfaces that exists in many DAWs usually have that capability, but I have not been able to build that into a sequencer in Max. That sounds like a great project for someone who knows Max4Live!
