Looking for general tips to keep things tidy!

Hi there,

I have been using max for a few months now and I love it! However now I am creating more complex devices I am finding everything is getting very cluttered with patch cords everywhere! Especially when I have a lot of control dials and sliders than need to be initialised and linked and turned on and off etc. I have downloaded other peoples patches and they always look so neat and tidy so I am just looking for tips to keep things a bit more managable when things get complicated.

Thanks

I'd say check out the 'trigger', 'send', 'value', 'pv', and 'forward' objects

Hey Joe, I think this page is made for you: "Organizing Your Patch" https://docs.cycling74.com/max8/vignettes/organizing_your_patch_topic

For me one of the most important things is encapsulation: https://docs.cycling74.com/max8/vignettes/encapsulate_deencapsulate (which is included at the first link anyway).
