I'm trying to create a granular sample playback patch using gen~ and poly~. The basics are there, but I'm having a problem when changing settings in my patch. Changing 'LENGTH' or 'DENSITY' always results in a sudden burst of noise before settling down into the expected behavior. I thought that using the [latch] object in [gen~] would get rid of such behavior by only letting these parameter changes through based on the trigger input, but they don't seem to be helping with that. This is one of my first forays into DSP so I'm guessing I'm just missing something and am hoping someone might be able to check out my patch and point me in the right direction. Thank you for all the help :-). I included an audio file in the folder but you can use your own by just dragging into the buffer~ object named "audio".

If anyone cares, I figured this out. The problem had to do with the fact that I was handling the triggering of individual voices at different times with a [delay] object inside of my gen~ patch. I think on a high level this was a poor design approach anyway, but more specifically it was causing the above mentioned 'bursts' of audio. I'm now handling this logic outside of the gen~ patch and it's working much better.
