M4L - Display MIDI Clip Name

Hi there,

I would like to display the name of the MIDI clip that the cursor is currently on in the arrangement view. Is it possible to have a M4L device do that?

To explain the purpose of this: When using Ableton Live for playing back backing tracks on stage, my laptop is usually not right in front of me. I have a MIDI track which I use as an arranger with dummy clips named according to the song part (Verse, Chorus, etc.). I would like to insert this M4L device on this track in order to display the name of the MIDI event that the cursor is on in a larger font, so that I could see it from further away.

I am using dummy clips instead of locators since I use ClyphX and use locators as X-Cue's, so I don't want to clutter up my locators.

Would appreciate any help on this!

Thanks and best regards,
Karan

It's possible in Live 11. The path 'live_set tracks N arrangement_clips' gives the list of all clips in a track and you can get the properties like start_time, end_time and name.
