I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for creating a marquee text box?

I'm using a message box to display text in presentation mode, but I don't want the box to automatically re-size for larger messages, so I need to impose some kind of maximum character limit for the display to crop it to size, and then scroll the text so that I can read the full message.

On the basis of Nesa's suggestions in the Scrolling LCD Display thread (

I feel there must be a better way. If I was able to create a marquee scrolling text box using HTML in 1999, there must be an answer using Max!

I have no experience of using Jitter - do I need to go down this path?

did anyone ever expand on this patch? Would love to use something similar in jitter. The Issue with this patch is that it doesnt to a pixel motion but rather by letter which is harsher than it needs to be. I'll try to mess with jit.lcd but would love to hear any suggestions. 

Capturing the full text to a texture is not really an option since the text will be quite long. (7000 Characters)
