Max 8 and Kinect

I just got Max 8 and I would like to figure out how to read data from an xbox kinect. I had some luck using synapse but i was hoping there were some new tools to use for this version of Max. Thank you <3

This object use kinect (model one) as a videocamara, NOT with scheleton (OpenNI, etc).

mac or win? kinect v1 or v2? if win and v2 dp.kinect is the generally preferred solution

jit.freeneck.grab is for Kinect V1 on MacOS.

dp.kinect is for Windows only. I think just for Kinect V1, but I'm not sure.

I wrote some kinect externals for internal use at our lab. Variously wrapping Windows APIs and freenect APIs, for v1 and v2 devices. HOWEVER, they aren't packaged up for a release and therefore I'm not advertising them or offering support etc., and they may not be 100% stable -- and even the interface is likely to change before release, but if you want to try them grab the devel branch of

Hoping to put together a release in time for Expo if I can find the time.

I have downloaded the Max Worldmaking Package but there isn't anything inside that has to do with the Kinect? Or maybe I miss something?
