if your confused then you can email him - think his ad is on the site somewhere & he always gets back to you.
& if you want to send audio check out SoundFlower.
This example is using logic, but same principal applies with reason etc.

i emailed that chap but had no response. His logic patch doesnt seem to do anything.
this shows the inputs I want activated.

You cant activate any audio inputs when Max is a slave (using ad_rewire driver) - the audio is driven by the host application. What you can do in this case is to send audio and midi to the host, and receive midi and infos (hostsync~) from the host. If you want to have an external instrument trigger things you should deal with midi, or use Max as an host (using rewire~ and something like Reason) hope this helps

i have ableton and ive tried to run max as a host but ableton doesnt seem to want to let max be the host.
is there any chance the cycling74 people are going to bring back pluggo cos that used to work perfectly

no, do you just stick it in the patch with a "1" going into it?

Have a look at this patch. Double click on midi in and the menu - to select the relevant setting that you have chosen for appleton to send through data and the umenu. This should do what you are after - not sure how to connect it but hope this helps.
