I'm trying to launch Miraweb on Windows running Max 8. The console shows the error "Max could not launch URL. err = 1223", and I am not sure how to fix this. I'm just using the Miraweb launch that comes with the package.

Had the same issue, and found this topic where they advise to downgrade to v 1.2.6 which works :
