Well, as far as I can remember Jitter can handle up to 32 planes so you won't be able to have a 64-plane matrix anyways. With that being said, I'm not sure why you are only getting an 8-plane matrix. A workaround could be putting a jit.catch~ inside a poly~ or mc.poly~. Good luck!
