memorise preset VST
I can't remember VST plug-in presets loaded into the vst~ object. On the other hand, I have poor command of English.
I use the tutorial MSP Plug-ins Tutorial 1 (chapter: Programs).
The tutorial states: “The message write will open a file dialog. You can choose to save the active program, or the entire bank.”
Obviously, the tutorial lacks details.
I tried with several VSTs.
My question is: how should we proceed to memorize a preset from a VST?
If a moderator could tell me how to do this, I would be grateful.
Should we proceed like this?:
1 Select a preset in the umenu object
2 Change settings in a plug-in window
3 Click on “Write”
4 In which folder should we store the preset?
Maybe this is impossible in Max For Live.
Thanks for your help.
4.)
i would use a path which is relative to max4live installation files path.
this makes it easier to also automatically load it later.
but technically it will work to write it everywhere you wish.
Hello,
If I understand well, you can send the message (get -4) to the Vst object and it will outputs all the currents values of the current preset
I thank the moderators for the messages.
I think my English is bad because we misunderstood each other.
My problem is that I would like to know how to store presets from a VST loaded in Max For Live.
When I follow the procedure I indicated, the preset is not valid.
Actually, it seems to me that the .fxp file has no saved data.
Could you tell me how you store VST plugin presets?
Thanks in advance
Use write to write, read to load .
What is not working in that respect ?
Writing and loading of fxp or fxb has nothing to do with
Live automation or storage.
You manually write or read vst preset or bank files.
