MIDI Input to Native Instruments Plugins in Max ?

Hi

Does anyone know how to send midi note messages to Native Instruments synth plugins (FM8, Absynth, etc) within Max?

Following this video tutorial , the plugin does not receive the midi note event however it does produce audio output when manually clicking the plugins own internal keyboard interface.

The inputs on the plugin don't seem to have a midi input point

Instead of watching youtube videos
open vst~ help file to understand a bit how it works.
on that screenshot vst~ is set to inlineview mode.
one can still send midievant and other messages

Thanks for the advice. The issue was with [bpatcher midikeys] as the message output wasn’t the same as what is expected from [midiformat]

(midievent) messages seem to work fine in inline view mode
