Hi there.

In the past, I used to be able to create a wireless network on my macbook pro and have my iPad connect to it and Mira would find that network as well and life was wine and roses.

Since then, I have preferred to use the usb connection. So I have been using this for some years. But now, when I try to return to my old ways, Mira doesn’t seem to recognise the ad-hoc wifi. The iPad does.

I’m running iOS 17.4.1 3rd generation iPad Pro

And a Macbook Pro M2 OS Ventura 13.5.2

Any thoughts?

So I hadn't tried Ad-hoc but I have found somewhat recently I've started having issues with Mira not reconnecting, especially if the computer switches from ethernet to wireless (which would make the IP change).

Sometimes I'd have to quit Max then re-run it to get it to connect again.
The iPad side showed an error. i'l try to test and capture what the error was.

I don't remember having this problem before and I've been using Mira the same way for some years.
If I recall it used to reconnect automatically or at least without issue if I asked it to.

Support in Mac for ad-hoc networks has been getting progressively worse for some years, and afaict is completely non-functional by the time you get to Sonoma. I use(d) it for both Mira and TouchOSC, and I remember it being less stable as long ago as Ventura, so you may be a victim of Apple's idea of progress. I've bought a tiny router to take to gigs now....
