i try to build an dynamic eq inside of ableton live. I've already setup everything and so far it's working. 

I use the max for live device called "Map8" to route all my knobs. As i said, it's working quite nicely but i want to make the UI a bit more understandable in terms of whats going on. Because, right now all the knobs shows just %..... I want to change them to tell me the frequency, gain, or time depending witch knob it's mapped to.

I tried to understand the basics of max and especially how the "Map8" device works. For me it looked like i can just change the unit style of the knob from % to Hertz (db or time) and change the range to what i need. But sadly it doesn't work like this. As soon as i change the range (to let's say 10. 22000 for Hertz) the knobs aren't working anymore like i want them to.

I think this is something quite easy but i just don't get it and to be honest i don't want to mess around with max for ages. Hope someone can help me :)
