MSP output to LAN "website" visible to smartphones - "synced" (+-15 ms latency) audio on their end
There may be a few ways to accomplish this, some using website "players" or podcasters and looping audio out of max. The easy solution if this was WWW is OBS capture it to Twitch/YouTube etc, but I want this without a WAN connection. I don't know what the software components are to accomplish this and I don't program HTML although something simple with drop in code I could probably manage.
A LAN computer connected via hard line to a wireless router plays audio from Max . Computer hosts a website which has some "player" or in some manner allows smartphones conncted to the site to listen. I give ip address of this website to people. They connect and although I could deal with up to 200ms latency performer to audience I want less than 15ms latency / jitter between listeners. I'm not sure what people normally get when connecting to a twitch stream.
Anyone done anything like this or know of solutions ?
My findings so far
Soundit proposes to make website, stream audio from PC, and have devices connect, but cant get phones to connect and hard line other computer audio is at maybe 96kbps mp3 level
VBAN, requires app, shows some promise, although can't 255.255.255.255 broadcast from voicemeeter (the audio drops out every half second) and only 4 explicit devices can be named for ip destinations. It's uncompressed PCM 16 bit which is nice but unneeded if it makes it this glitchy. Androids using receiver app not working. iPhones working pretty well. VBAN spot connects to 255 devices but less well than explicitly naming in voicemeeter. Audio droputs are often right next to router and incessant 20 feet from it. Latency between devices is LOW.
Stream What You Hear works pc to pc, but phones just show crossed out play button.
Well I've been at this for over a week. There are hardware solutions but even they aren't great. There are some in ear monitoring companies but its $100 per license for listener end. Making an Ice Server works without dropouts but has massive latency. VBAN may be best "solution". Sonobus is in beta and not made for this - say 12 people, but maybe if its all listeners you could get more.
