Need help - Can't save patches, saving not disabled and license is ok

Sorry if my forum etiquette is subpar, I'm not much of a forum user. I've tried searching, but I can't find anything that resembles the problem I'm having.

I'm using Max 7.3.3 with Ableton 9. I haven't opened either in a while, but last time I did I know everything was working fine. Now, when I try to open a Max for Live device, it first just opens the max console, then I have to click the edit button on the device off and back on for the patch to show up. The Save and Save As... options both show as enabled, but clicking on either does nothing. Ctrl+S and Ctrl+Shift+S do nothing as well. I've checked my license, and it seems to be validating fine.

Has anyone seen anything like this, or have any ideas on what I could do to fix it, or at least isolate the issue?
