NRPN Messages
Hello,
Could anyone help? I'm trying to understand NRPN, specifically for using with the NRPNOUT object. I'm stuck. Would anyone be able to format one of these lines for use with the NRPNOUT object correctly, or advise where I could find more information. I'd like to understand about receiving NRPN within MAX so any help would be great.

hi lo are MSB LSB parameter number (CC# 99 an 98)
example for midi channel 1 for Track 6 CTRL-Prameter :
176 99 0 176 98 5 = parameter number 14 bit (MSB LSB)
176 6 nn 176 38 nn = parameter value 14bit (MSB LSB)
176 99 127 176 98 127 don't know why this in needed ???
nrpnout max help file is easy to read
even if it is wrong , for example on hires page.
all that xx yy XYYXX giberisch from your device manufacturer is usual
try to make it as hard for midi users to undersand kind of midi implementation chart.

Thank you. Sorry for being slow. I understand that 99, 98, 6 and 38 are CC numbers. 176 is the channel, 5 is the track . Do I then need to convert these three lines of numbers? How do I use this with nrpnout. I've looked at the help files, but I'm unable to work it out.

this is the simplest form
I prefer to check midi experiments first using thresh or print,
before bombing real midi ports with it ...
