I know I can use open>pcontrol>thispather to open a subpatch, how can I use a bang message only? This is just to clear up space and avoid double-clicking. Basically, bang>subpatch 

Also I found a wclose>thispatcher which is the same principle I'm looking for, but for closing only

But I don't understand your statement about clearing up space and double-clicking, as both approaches (front to thispatcher and open to pcontrol) can be triggered with a single click on a single bang button:

easy to overlook that "front" will open the patcher window if it is closed.

sending a bang into a subpatcher, where the bang triggers another message (for example "front"?) is a all day task with max patches.
