Apologies if this has been answered before:  I have an assignment from a Max MSP course I'm taking where I need to open a .maxpat patch, make edits to it and save as a new .maxpat patch. Is it possible to do it inside Max for Live? I own Ableton Live Suite. I'm only getting an option for .amxd extension when I'm trying to save a patch inside Max for Live. Perhaps there's a way to convert .amxd to .maxpat?

opening .maxpat in Max for Live, making changes to it and exporting the patch as .maxpat

you have to start Max editor from live to enable storing of patches.

do so by openning one device in live set. (which you can remove as soon as Max started)

once Max has started, you can open, create, edit and save  max  patches.
