Package Manager load indefinitly

J.'s icon

Hi,
When I open the package manager, a white screen window open and load indefinitly. It does the same thing with the reference menu and the file browser wich are inaccessible. I'm on Windows 10 and tried both 32/64bit, even in administrator mode and I reinstall the software multiple times but nothing change... Anybody knows this issue ?

@Enrico Wiltsch

Sounds like something went wrong while attempting to update the Package Manager. Would you mind getting in touch with our support so we can resolve this in an easier, straigthforward way!?

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

I seem to have the same problem. I contacted the support but I feel they kind of gave up. Did you manage to resolve the issue in the end?

I've find a trick to bypass the problem but i have not my laptop now, and i cant remeber.
I had a white /blank page on package manager window but with some text visible like "home" or "?".
Try to press home.
I'm running authorized max 7 on mac osx 10.7.5

High, I know this thread is a bit old, but I have exactly the same problem happening with Max 7.3.5 on osx 10.14. Blank window instead of package manager. I would like to install a package rather quickly to have the same setup as another computer, so is there an alternative to install packages without the manager ? Thanks

Hi Alain, please get in touch with support for this.

Hi Alain, probably not the answer to your question: my problem seem to have been that I was using special characters for my windows user account name. Max was not able to process these special characters (as part of the path to the directory where Max installs the package). I had to create a new windows account and move everything to the new account using standard characters. This resolved the issue for me.

Hi Deligut, Thank you for your answer. I contated support, and this seems to be a known problem on version 7.3.5. Updating to 7.3.6 solves the problem. What I find annoying is that when I open Max I am informed that there is a new version of Max 8 available, but not that there is an update to my version of Max 7. Anyhow, problem solved. Thanks.
