Particle Based Granular Delay | Building Help
Hello Max-Community,
I want to build a particle based granular delay. I want to be able to position it in space and as I move it around, it should create stream of little grains. Inspiration for this is the GRM-Tools SpaceGrain Plug-In. I just started using Max/MSP and I get that there lots of ways to do granular synthesis.
Do you have any tips? How would you start? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
Start by making a patch that plays back a single grain - how you want it to. Think about how you will then control the grain playback en masse (the most fun bit imho). Manage polyphony with either poly~ or build it in MC.
If you don't want to build everything from scratch the petra package is very cool and flexible. If you want to spatialise individual grains, the from scratch approach might be better in the long term. You may also discover more original things along the way.
