Questions about [techno~]
Hi. I've been playing around with this object for a few days. The help file is a bit perplexing but I have managed to set up a little [techno~] set-up. Can someone clarify a few things?
What exactly does the "repeatpos" message mean in simple terms?
Help file: "allows repeating settings of non-uniform sequencer step sizes" What does this mean?
Help file: "number of floats following the lengths message represents one less than the size of the repeating segment of steps" I have no clue what any of this sentence means.
Help file: "segment size can be any even divisor of the total number of steps in the sequence" What is a "segment"? What is its size, in what units are we talking about? Why must its size be an even divisor?
Help file: "The floating point arguments which must be strictly increasing and in the range between 0 and 1, set the relative width of each step" At this point I'm lost. Why strictly increasing? What are we talking about anymore?
Help file example: "repeatpos 0.66 affects a repeating segment two steps long, giving the first step 66% of the time and the second step 34%" Not sure what to make of this example. So the number after "repeatpos" signifys the % of time that each step occupies in the sequence?
The more i read the helpfile the more confused i am about this.
What does "values used to specify the exponents of the curve are the same as those used for the "curve" message" mean?
This phrase is mentioned in the help file under the "attack" and "decay" message information. What am i supposed to know here? Am i supposed to match the step values from "curve" message with the "attack" and "decay" steps?
Thank you for anyone who chimes in
