reaction diffusion with bfg

Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.
When trying to get this reaction diffusion patch to work with jit.bfg instead of jit.noise, jit.window flickers for a second but then goes to black. Is there any way around this issue/what is causing it?
Credit to Paul Fennell for the original patch! Worth noting that the patch works for him running on Max 6.

The jit.noise object had 2 planes of char data.
Your jit.bfg had 1 plane of float 32 data.
Corrected the patch.
