record random parts into buffer - why does it not work?

Hi,

in general a siimple thing but I it is not clear to me, why it does not work.

I have a buffer and randomly chose a start location in the buffer with a random duration to record to.

Record kind of behaves strange because it not always records the correct length, even though the attributes are set correctly.
Just try several times to record into the buffer.

Your [record~ ] object is always recording, so as soon as it receives a new value in its limits inlets (it receives first the end point), it will write into your buffer until it reachs this end limit.

Here is a very dirty modification of your patch :

Be careful : reading & writing a buffer at the same position at the same time may make some ugly clicks!

Thank you.

Not sure why I have not tried turning rec off, maybe because I had the mental model that rec anyhow stopps after the specified during.

P.S. currently no problem with ugly clicks, just hear beautiful ones.
