Roli Blocks Objects vs Bluetooth

I've recently got a Lightpad block from Roli, and really enjoying getting started with the Max objects.

However, I can't get the lightpad to communicate with the objects over bluetooth. For example, the blocks.pad never allows me to sync by using the tab in the top corner, turning it blue, and connecting Max with the lightpad. No problem over USB.

Using bluetooth over midi, I can get midi into max from the lightpad (the Miditester shows various dimensions of midi data being received), just not into the blocks. objects.

Is this just a current limitation of the objects ?
