Saving space in M4L plugin

How do you save screen space in an M4L plugin without the use of bpatchers/poly objects/javascript (does JS work at all in M4L?) etc. ?

While setting up obnoxious things like VCS3 emulations etc. i oftenly end up with M4L plugs, that either have controls way too small, or they stretch over a screen space, that simply turns into a kind of scroll monster. How do you get around this? There must be a way of grouping certain controls and sort of moving them into the available screen space only when needed, no?

Thanx for any insights.

Hopa, a follow-up question: Is there a simple way to connect groups of objects and hide them all at once?

Thanx again for any insights.
